https://collider.com/worst-cgi-movie-moments-ranked/ Clickbait-y article with the "10 worst CGI moments". Almost sad that the bad CGI thing I contributed to that normally makes these lists isn't on there. And some of the things that are listed aren't as bad as it, too. Anyway, kudos to all the artists that worked on these things and did their best to polish as best they could, I'm sure it was a miserable process.

@gavgraham Most of the time, the artists aren’t responsible for this result, same for the VFX vendor.
Short deadline, bad client artistic decision, multiple redo, changing direction at the last minute, adding a new sequence at the end, bad shooting, …
We can do miracles but with some limitations :-)
I’m glad I didn’t work on them. Not only for the final result but because this type of project should be extremely painful.

@gavgraham You’re right! These types of projects provide a good resilience experience :-).
I heard that some companies are underbidding to win the projet. The team needs to work with this situation because it is very hard to readjust the bid after the shots are ingested.
I suppose it’s a ‘déjà vu’ for you.

@lucas3d yes I mentally reframed very early on to not think "this is underbid!", and rather had to think "the job is to deliver with these days. How can that be done?" Never fails to help!
