Before Katu disappeared, this was her absolute favourite box. She’d hide out in it in the living room, sleep in it at night. I’d carry her, in her box, out of the living room at bedtime, she wouldn’t leave it.

When she went missing, we kept the box, an act of faith that she’d some day need it again. Labelled it so it didn’t get re-used.

13 months later, she’s been back home a month and is back in her old lair 😻

When a property has been empty for some time, there’s always the risk that squatters might move in, even when the rightful owner has returned.
