@Disa @EscBoy I still can’t believe they don’t see through what was going on. It’s so obvious what was going on… and people are running back there because that’s where they want to be, and they’re just…. they’d go back to a place that almost made more than 42,000 people lose their home?? This is clown behavior. it’s like when someone has someone’s husband cheat on their wife with them, and they think “oh, he’ll never do it to me because I’m special :)”
The only good thing they had going was not getting jump scared by endless NSFW talk. Otherwise, it went from clown behavior to entire circus.

You’re exactly right, it’s like going back to an abuser after they threatened to make you homeless and did various things to make you feel scared and unsafe. Even down to blocking out where you could go. Like an abuser calling a hotel or rooms for rent and telling them lies so that you have to stay with them.

@Disa @EscBoy Who wants to start placing bets (not actually, I am broke) that within a couple weeks to a month of the so-called “new management” taking over, things somehow devolve into violence over there? The second the “new admin” says or does something they don’t agree with, it will become a blood bath, and people will be shopping for alternatives, yet, they don’t ever commit to leaving.
I know this because this is how it went during its inception. It was a nightmare. I went back a stupid amount of times, and never stayed because the vibes were always off even if nothing had happened to me yet. They don’t understand what kind of place they’re in.

It’s like the Reddit API exodus where everyone left to Lemmy, but basically nobody wanted to nurture the lemmy communities and went back because it’s not reddit. The few lemmy instances that stuck around were actually worse than Reddit when it came to management.
People never want to go through the initiative to actually put in the effort to use/grow a smaller platform. And will think of every excuse to go back to whatever they were using they can think of. Usually “well my friends use it” is the one I hear the most.
