Toot

Written by Ahmad Shadeed on 2024-12-13 at 08:07

As some of you might know, I wrote https://rtlstyling.com/posts/rtl-styling a few years ago.

I’m now looking for companies or businesses that have used it to write CSS for RTL, so I can feature them in the ‘Used By’ section on the site.

If you know of any, I’d be grateful for your help!

@shadeed9 Orange (orange.com) used it to extends Boosted (boosted.orange.com), its branded fork of Bootstrap.

And then reversed its implementation to Bootstrap v5 (which led me to ask weird questions 💜).

@shadeed9 :) Since they have businesses in Egypt, Jordania and some other M-E countries where arabic is used, Boosted already implemented RTL since v4 — but only using RTLCSS and it was quite buggy.

When Bootstrap started to work on v5, I was Boosted's single maintainer and in Bootstrap's core team so I implemented Bootstrap's RTL (still using RTLCSS, but way less hacky, and really improved thanks to RTL Styling 101).

@shadeed9 Unrelated to RTL styling, but Boosted's maintainer (previous and current) all made their way to Bootstrap's core team. Which probably makes Orange the biggest supportive company commited to Bootstrap :)
