Here's an A-level exam question a Y13 student showed me today. It is one of 5 on a similar theme that she was given for homework.
Which subject was this homework set for, though?

@mrpjevans
I'm not sure that exists as an A-level just yet.

@TeaKayB This is a trick question, right? Because that's a math question, maybe physics.
Also, who in their right mind would package socks in a pyramid shaped box? (I do understand that it's probably fancy packaging. But. Why?)

@wynke
You did not mention the correct subject.
And I did wonder that myself...

@TeaKayB Yeah, I kind of expected that. I'm not familiar enough with the UK curriculum to make a better guess, though. Something with 'economics' in the name perhaps? Or chemistry, as some strange angle to approach molecular structures? Although I'd believe you if you'd say it's English literature (but not a foreign language, because then at least some part of the question would have been in that language).
It's still very much a math question though.

You still haven't mentioned it!

@TeaKayB I could keep on guessing, but it'd basically be 'name all subjects I can imagine UK A-levels exist for'...

@TeaKayB
why does the formula at the bottom look photoshopped? the resolution is different
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from rzeta0@mastodon.social
@rzeta0 @TeaKayB Probably because the question page was made by someone who doesn't normally use formulas in text and has either inserted it as an image in a word document or actually physically cut and pasted on paper before copying.

@rzeta0 @TeaKayB I'd not be hugely surprised.

I suspect a teacher has manually recreated a question from a paper they've seenm rather than it being a straight screenshot.
