A pesar de sus piernitas frágiles y orientación borracha, los gaticos comenzaron a explorar el corral. Uno de ellos se trepó por la malla de las paredes, como si fuera un espécimen australiano.

Uno, el naranja, tiene los ojos verdes. Los otros todavía aparecen con los ojos azules, pero ya controlan mejor sus pupilas.

Hoy pude cargar a dos, con permiso de Malenia. Huelen a gato chiquito, y su temperatura es como cuando uno pone a cargar un celular. Vibran poquito. Su voz es aguda

Los gatos ya pelean como señores borrachos en la calle: no se pueden tener en sus patas, mandan el manotazo, y los gatos involucrados en la pelea, y los que están mirando, todos absolutamente todos, se caen.

También están recorriendo el corralito. Ya pueden retraer las uñas!

Lo más bonito es que me hablan. Les quito la cobija con la que tapo el corral, o me sienten por ahí, y me buscan con la mirada. Yo les hablo y ellos me cuentan todo lo que les ha pasado en su vida de gato.

No sé si es que Malenia no sabe o no quiere coger a los gatos por el pescuezo. A veces me da por pensar que ella no los tiene que vivir trasteando a ningún lado por lo que confía en Radahn y en mí.

Lo raro es que tampoco les juega. Radahn sí. Los coge como si los fuera a matar, pero en su violencia no hay sevicia, solo juego. Los tumba al suelo y les da vueltas en el aire, pero todo sin uñas y sin dientes.

Uno de los gaticos no se ha pasado a la comida sólida, sigue mamando Malenia, y ella ya se mamó también: solo les da teta unas tres veces al día.

El man estaba a punta de eso. Me tocó sentarme con él y hacerlo lamer las pepitas y estar ahí hasta que aprendiera a masticar. Luego humedecerme los dedos con agua para que tomara. Se nos fue un buen rato en eso.

Ya sabe dónde está la comida y el agua pero me toca estar pendiente de que coma. Ahorita está durmiendo.
