Any feedback on the Palm Nano Paddle and Pico Paddle ?
I can buy one (not clear which model).
All I know is that these paddles are not manufactured anymore since at least 10 years.
(For portable operation, indeed.)

@F4JWJ I have both the Mini and the Pico. From a handling point of view there is not much difference to me but I somehow use the Pico more on XOTA activations than the Mini. Hannes, DL9SCO owns the design rights and still produces them in small batches and sometimes fancy colors. Just contact him via email and heโll tell you if new ones or spare parts are currently available.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know there is still a (small) production.
In fact, as I said, I've found one for sale.
The nice thing is that it comes with a fully loaded KX3...(๐).
My question was from the user point of view.
Wat is your feeling with these paddles : solid build or flimsy, precise or wobbling, rebounds, whatever ?...

@F4JWJ The Pico is a bit more solid from the feel of the paddles than the Mini but with the Mini you can adjust the softness of the touch. Both are not as direct as the BaMaKey TP-III but are better in rain or high humidity since the contacts are more or less covered by the housing. The cable of the Mini has a strange connector on the key side that wasnโt too sturdy and broke after 7 years. You can attach a small keyer (Code Cube) directly to the back of the Mini.

@DK3IP thanks.
The BaMaKey TP-III is rather expensive (161โฌ + shipping), but seems top notch !
And I love the look.

In fact, this is a Pico Paddle with a 3.5mm jack + a support that screws into the KX3 + a 4 pins plug for the KX3.
I just agreed with the seller to add it to the KX3.
Looks like I will not use the Elecraft microphone that much ! ๐คฃ

@DK3IP I think it is better to hold the Pico Paddle in the "other hand", as most POTA activator do on video, rather that screwed on the KX3, but I will see by myself.
I hope that, this time, the KX3 will not be stolen during the shipment !

The pivot screw is not of great design (will not hold in time), but nonetheless a good option to have.

I have a Palm Pico that I even used as my main station/home paddle for a while. Need to hold it with my other hand while keying, other than that, it is a surprisingly able and nice key.
I have done quite a few activations with it over the years and like it. Mine is black, a bit hard to locate once dropped into the grass, but thus far, I always managed to find it.

@F4JWJ I only know they have a failure point in the weird miniature connector they use.

@IU1KGS Yest, I can see t (online) that the Pico Paddle uses a tiny 2.5mm stereo jack instead of the more 3.5mmm.
Apparently, the Mini uses a 3.5mm jack.

@F4JWJ let me dig a thread on the SOTA reflector

@F4JWJ there you go, the mini uses a three pin simil-Molex miniature connector

@IU1KGS OMG!!! ๐ฎ
These Molex, JST, etc... connectors are not designed for repeated plugging/unplugging !
Advertised lifetime is usually 30 mating cycles.
So, you were right : weird choice of connector.
And thanks for the information. ๐

@IU1KGS
In retrospect, I believe the info I read saying "3 pins 2.5mm" was in fact for a 3 pins 2.5mm or 2.54mm PITCH Molex / JST style connector.
It was so natural for me to believe it was a 2.5mm mini jack...
