It continues to be delightful to me that modern archeology is not "beautiful golden artifacts and ancient coins" so much as "stomach contents, tooth enamel, and trash heaps" AND that the field seems to have have attracted exactly the kind of weirdos who love talking about how cool their poop-based research is.

@baconandcoconut if you wanna hear real archeologists talk about their work there are dozens of interviews on the "Tides of History" podcast (I've been binging several years of it during the past few months of hellish commuting).
