Is there any #running shoe vendor whose customer service isn’t an utter disappointment? Got burned by #Altra today. They expect me to pay 10 EUR for a return because they can’t offer me a larger size. Exchanges would be free. The ones I ordered don’t fit, despite following their size chart.
This is a full 15% of the order value that I won’t get back. If they remain steadfast on this point, it’ll be the first and last time I consider any of their gear.

@herrbischoff I has amazing customer service from Xero Shoes, but hey only have minimalist shoes. I don't know if you were looking for that, but I still wanted to throw them a shout out because they were outstanding.
And I'm sorry for your bad experience.

@fo The shoes look interesting, but this is a deal breaker for me:
Please note: returns are subject to a return shipping fee. We will deduct €7.50 from your refund if you use this service.
Return is not a service, it's basic mail order business. This is essentially the same Altra is doing, only slightly cheaper. There are no shops around here to try them on, so I'd have to hope they support Klarna, order two dozen pairs in different sizes and hope for the best.

@herrbischoff hmmm maybe it doesn't apply in Canada? Or I didn't notice? I'm glad you checked thoroughly before purchasing. Sorry for the misleading advice.

@fo I‘ve got a hunch that this is what American companies do in Europe. US/Canada is often free shipping and return, within Europe they set up shop in a low tax country and still ship via UPS, because that’s what they already do in the US. Europe works differently, as does the rest of the world. The world isn‘t the US plus Canada. In my experience many US Americans do not seem to understand that, including those responsible at the companies.

@herrbischoff yeah I'm not surprised. Even in Canada I can often feel this.
It's like they think the web is for the whole wide world, aka the US?
