@Tjal I simply took screenshots while updating OSM. Then I made a gif out of them with 'magick' (on linux).

@Tjal No, it doesn't unfortunately. But I made a bookmark and the screenshots are quite aligned (off by a few pixel maybe). I collected them in a folder. It's just for fun...
The exact commands used are:
nice magick -delay 24 '*.png' -resize 80% -loop 8 osm-loop.gif
and then
nice magick 'osm-loop.gif' -gravity Center -crop 90%x90%+0+0 +repage osm-loop-crop.gif
