The more I look at... everything... The more I realize that no help is coming, and things will not improve.
I've come to accept that by measures, but the harder thing to deal with is the idea that people will - 100% and without exception - treat horror, violence, and injustice with apathy.
Even those who I love, who I felt close to, who I might still feel close to, just... Don't care. And will allow tragedy and horrific things to occur without protest or struggle.
The whole world is complying in advance.

@Phorm Yeah. It's the apathy that hurts. People just not caring. It's exhausting. It feels like carrying an umbrella for people who won't even admit it's raining.
But I'm determined to outlive these ghouls, and the day that Trump goes and (ambulance drives by with siren blaring) I'm gonna dance in the Goddamn street.

Yeah. I can deal with people hating us. Their hate might be mired in self-loathing and come out as a low-level disgust disguised as a 'culture war' or whathaveyou, but at least they have a shred of honesty about that.
The people who really just don't care, the apathetic, those are the ones who ... well, as broken as the Kitty Genovese case was in all its reporting, they'd be the ones who'd stand by and watch. They're the ones who'll hand-wring until the Niedermeyer poem comes true for them.
And it hurts like fuck to see people we love and care for opt to simply abandon us.
