Some retro gaming communities have developer tools with features that surpass top-of-the-line enterprise tooling. I find it both frustrating (in that I wish I had some of those capabilities for non-game software) and also very inspiring.

@jpf @progrium there was (is?) this thing called VLIDE for writing AutoLisp (AutoCAD Lisp) which was quite nice. sadly they switched to JS and VSCode now for newer versions.
