@pluralistic in addition to #GTD methods, I found a pretty "revealing" method that helps me prioritize things:

I am in the process of setting up a brand new laptop and doing a lot of thinking about organizing information and files and time. This was a good read. I am looking forward to learning more about #GTD but I would love to learn more about Cory's strategies for info management @pluralistic.

thank you for this! I read this ages ago but this is the point in time when I am able to act on this sort of thing. I am currently drowning in data, have too many projects, and am an avid collector of information. I am hoping this will help me get a handle on it all.

@billseitz @peterfr @pluralistic

you mentioned instapaper, & now I'm remembering I have a ton of stuff there & on pocket, too, all several years old at this point. I'm getting a little overwhelmed just thinking about it all.

BUT I did download Obsidian. And am trying out your 'first pages' guide. I have a few questions about those pages. Like, journal2024, would that be a separate file for each day? Or one running file for a year? Would this all make more sense if I actually read GTD first?

I came across this idea about the overall organization of notes in Obsidian but I also started using my decimal system for files on my computer. Also using plugin Periodic Notes to template daily & weekly notes.
