𧡠My mother-in-law is one of the sweetest people I know. She is scheduled for hip surgery tomorrow, and my wife and I spent the weekend helping her get ready for the day, keep nerves calm, and prep for the recovery.
Nonetheless, if I so much as breathed funny, this tiny lady in her late 70s fretting about a relatively impactful surgery would ask me if I needed something to eat or if I needed a book or do I want to change the channel...

I'm home now, but my wife is still there helping get ready to go to surgery tmrw. It is of course a stressful time, and to kill a couple hours my MIL and my father-in-law went to the shops to get some comfy clothes for the recovery period at home.
She specifically wanted some loose cotton trousers to wear around while she's relatively restricted to the flat. The quote I heard was "we found some, they only had one kind, but they are super comfy and they have pretty owls on them".

Sounds lovely. It's as if the trousers might even be a part of the calming environment needed to quietly and healthfully recover from surgery.
So, they came home, and I now have a photo of the trousers. The comfy trousers. With the pretty owls.

This is my mother-in-law, a beautiful lady from Turkey who became a doctor and simultaneously raised the most wonderful woman that I am lucky enough to be married to. Please wish "Lily" a safe and speedy recovery.

@jaz I hope it all goes perfectly, and she finds the owls comforting! Iβm going to call them owls from now.
