Forcing a link to open in a new browser tab/window is an accessibility problem.

If you use , consider an elderly user for whom consistency is absolutely crucial, won’t be able to use the Back button to close that tab.

@jez I don't think this is universally true. I think there are times where opening in a new tab is more appropriate behavior and less confusing
