1/ I am thinking about creating a workshop that involves some programming and will include people that have never programmed before. I need a code editor that I can recommend and use during demonstrations.

2/ These are my requirements in descending order of importance.

• Lua support (required)

• Cross platform (required; Windows, Linux, macOS)

• Easy to use

• Easy to install

• Builtin terminal

• Allows assigning a shell command to a shortcut (easily)

• Open source + community maintained

• Lightweight (uses little CPU, RAM & disk space)

3/ So far I have tried VS Code/VS Codium, Pulsar, Geany, Kate, Zed, and Lite XL, and I am not completely happy with any of these.

Is there anything else I should look at? (Don't say vim or emacs.) //
