@pluralistic in addition to #GTD methods, I found a pretty "revealing" method that helps me prioritize things:

I am in the process of setting up a brand new laptop and doing a lot of thinking about organizing information and files and time. This was a good read. I am looking forward to learning more about #GTD but I would love to learn more about Cory's strategies for info management @pluralistic.

thank you for this! I read this ages ago but this is the point in time when I am able to act on this sort of thing. I am currently drowning in data, have too many projects, and am an avid collector of information. I am hoping this will help me get a handle on it all.

you mentioned instapaper, & now I'm remembering I have a ton of stuff there & on pocket, too, all several years old at this point. I'm getting a little overwhelmed just thinking about it all.
BUT I did download Obsidian. And am trying out your 'first pages' guide. I have a few questions about those pages. Like, journal2024, would that be a separate file for each day? Or one running file for a year? Would this all make more sense if I actually read GTD first?

@jenmarin @peterfr @pluralistic Personally, I make 1 page per week, and spin off specialized pages as needed. Other people have lots of stuff in a Daily template that they apparently fill in - yikes I'm allergic to stuff like that...

my current method is a physical notebook bullet journal style.
I am still a bit lost on your 'first pages' instructions.

Thanks again for the #obsidian recommendation. I'm totally hooked and I think it's going to help me in so many ways. It's a lot to learn, but I can already notice how it's changing my thinking and I'm excited to see where this leads.

@billseitz @peterfr @pluralistic and speaking of bushy thinking, I found a good resource by someone who shares your name. Coincidence?
