Toot

Looking for ideas from the gardeners out there:

I want to put up a visual screen so I don't see the neighbors; the screen would be about 4-5 ft high and 8-12 ft wide. I'm in a high desert environment (southern NM), and a watering system is available.

I could either put in bushes, or put up a fence and train vines to the fence. What food-bearing plants could I put there that would provide both food and a visual barrier? My first thought is a grape arbor but I'm interested in other ideas. Your thoughts?

@quoidian tomatoes in a desert environment?

Think this is gonna be hard. Perhaps passionfruit (gorgeous glowers), cacti, figs, dates, olives, oranges/lemons and grapes of course

@Frieke72 @wanderinghermit

The OP did post that there was water laid on. I find tomatoes like heat ( as in their Indonesian home, ) but low humidity is the problem?

@quoidian tomatoes need so much water. The ones O know.

I would tru to find native or suitable to desert climate plants. Water is precious
