I have a friend who grew up on a farm, so he's my go-to for agricultural information. It occurred to me to wonder, how do US farms manage a huge production of turkeys to be consumed at Thanksgiving. He said, that is not how it goes -- all the turkeys eaten at Thanksgiving are a drop in the vast ocean of US turkey production.
