Does anyone know how to disable "local" native #Wordpress comments throughout the site but leave enabled the ActivityPub comments, so people can only comment by eg replying from Mastodon?
Edit: issue solved, AP comments are not affected by local comments' settings so I can just disable the latter per the usual method.

This may be a violation of netiquette —and if that's the case I apologise in advance— but would you happen to know, @pfefferle ?

@xurxodiz there is a setting in the "Discussion Settings" (/wp-admin/options-discussion.php) of WordPress "Automatically close comments on old posts" and if you set the number of days to 0, it should do the trick!?!

@pfefferle Would that let AP comments through, though? I can just disable comments on all posts by default, but I assumed they needed to be open for AP comments to come in. Are they not governed by that same setting? Are AP comments considered a different animal altogether?

@xurxodiz ActivityPub does not care about local comments, so yes they will come through!
