I didn't think the AMD closed-source drivers were still being maintained? Why do people still install them? I thought the drivers in the kernel were far superior?

I mean, I was pretty anti-AMD, but now I'm Team Red all the way. :) (Video cards, that is, AMD's color being red on the box, while Nvidia is green.)
