@shonalika maybe it comes from like. when i was a kid, and i would want to listen to an album or play a new video game or something. but my birthday's coming up in a few weeks. a few months. so i'd have to wait for it. OR. maybe it's just because whenever i'd discover a band, i'd love all the stuff in their catalog that existed at that point, but somehow me finding out about them would also curse them to never produce anything i liked from then onward

@shonalika if i never listen to their new album, then i'll never find out their new album isn't as good as the older albums

@shonalika @jk I feel this so much! I always really liked Daft Punk. But when my friend gave me a copy of Random Access Memories something inside me refused to listen to it for YEARS!! It’s a real shame because it’s a fantastic album.

@virtualwolf @shonalika if it's something I find myself, it's fine. If someone (a friend, or a platform) says 'hey, check this out!' it's an insta-pushback

@shonalika@deadinsi.de there's a disorder... i cant remember what its called... but basically if someone tells you to do something, you suddenly cant do it
and new media is usually people telling you you should watch something

@shonalika Everything has to be aligned correctly for me to invest in Something New.
I have so many games in my backlog that are exactly my sort of shit, but the correct circumstances for playing them have yet to arise.
