I saw a guy on here mentioning that he was leaving Mastodon for Bluesky..

Well, uhm.. Alright? But why is it either this or that? You can have an account in both places if you like, and get the best of both worlds?

I don't know what plans Bluesky has for the future, but if they aren't looking to connect with the Fediverse or vice versa we won't get the open internet we're hoping for. Then we're just creating separate ecosystems working independently. Like if you couldn't phone users of another phone company.

@simonjust I use the phone example all the time. Just imagine - if we'd applied current logic, we may never have gotten telegraph, electricity, phones, the internet, even trains would have been on the chopping block...
