Some people don't know how to teach #cardgames. It's like if we're playing Go Fish and they go:
"So in this game, everyone gets cards. On your turn, you pick an opponent, and you talk to them, and they might have to give you cards, or they might not. Then on their turns, they can do the same to you. And at the end of the game, we count up everyone's scores, and whoever has the highest score wins."
I still don't know how to play!!

Me: How does this piece move again?
Them: Typically you'd move it defensively or to capture a piece.
M: Right, but where can it go?
T: Um, you just move it.
M: OK, then I'll move it forward.
T: That's a bishop, so it moves diagonally. Rooks move forward and back.
M: Oh, then I'll move my Rook forward instead.
T: Why? You can move it sideways to capture my piece
M: ...Can I see the manual?
