Does anyone know if it is possible/how to replace a valve in this tap/faucet?

I can't see how to get into it

@phil_browne If you examine the tip of the knob on either side I think you'll find a small cover, you can almost see it in the left hand picture. This will either be a simple push fit or a threaded cover, pry out or unscrew as appropriate.

Behind the cover will be a screw head, unscrew this and you will be able to pull the main knob/handle cover off.

What you do next depends on what you find inside.

Biggest problem is scale buildup makes even these cover removal steps a pain.

@bbeaker thanks Bob.

I've managed to find this image online - not sure if it's the same make/model, but I can't get the end piece, number 10, off with an old fashioned pull! It doesn't look like it would be threaded though so I'm maybe just a wimp
