With Thanksgiving approaching, I did some more reading on Alice’s Restaurant, as one does. According to https://religionnews.com/2017/11/22/alices-restaurant-thanksgiving-guthrie/, the officiating rabbi at Arlo Guthrie’s bar mitzvah was none other than Meir Kahane, a truly appalling mix of very different politics.

wow... yeah. the JDL and both Guthrie's were kind of at opposite ends of the political/social spectrum.
