@danluu The misuse of them varies by region and country, so I think different places would have different tradeoffs. I get the impression that India would be better off without them, for example, but other places might not be.

@danluu a friend has always advocated that the horn should sound inside the car as well as outside. That would ensure only the most necessary of uses.

@danluu I’m assuming car horns make driving safer overall, and I can’t really think of a set of benefits of not having them that could outweigh that.
