The macOS App Store is a trash fire. I get that they don’t have exclusive distribution rights there like on iOS, I was still surprised at how few apps are there though.

Most Mac apps are self-contained and don't need to be "installed".

.app directory structures are displayed as an icon, and you can move them wherever you want.
