It's that time of the year again. If the city of Salem Oregon does not deem the library a high priority at a budget meeting tomorrow (11/13), it might be the largest major city without a library.

@Llamacalamity I wish I had the optimism to think being involved would make a difference in the outcome, given the current budgetary situation, both locally and on a state level.

@genehack The second most frustrating part for me, aside from trying to fathom not having a library, is it was only three years ago the library was fully overhauled.

I'm honestly surprised that Friends of the Library haven't started a big membership drive or something

@Llamacalamity the only silver lining I can see there — and it’s fucking ultra-thin — is that the space could get used for something else on a city level, and then maybe other non-overhauled spaces could be abandoned.
