Why do I see a bunch of tooth in my “Home/Following tab” that are neither reposted from people I follow nor do I follow the person that posted the tooth ? Does mastodon start with the same “recommender” shit as other social media platforms? How does the recommendation works and based on what data?

@pandora I had the exact same reaction a couple of weeks back before I figured out what's happening, I think the UI around this is lacking
