I just canceled my support for online-go.com since i had a game-breaking issue with the timer on the site, and upon research i find a thread where one of the maints is actively hostile against a person reporting the same issue.

Anywhere else to play live games without having to actually install non libre software?

@kris I haven't played there, but PlayStrategy apparently has Go.

@kris Sad as I have generally had good experience playing there. Definitively the easiest site to start playing (except the whole baduk-bit).

Yes a majority of the games have worked perfectly, its just such a bad feeling losing on time in an hour long game because of frontend trouble. One game lost like that just makes you paranoid looking at the clock instead of reading.

I wanted to suggest minifox, but it's closed source. May I ask what the issue or thread was instead?

I'm quite biased, but the main developers of OGS seldom come of as hostile to me.

@kris I had similar experiences with OGS and cancelled my subscription due to similar frustrations. The culture of the site forums is to clown on anyone who complains or makes suggestions, and the mods seem to support that.

However the only alternative is probably KGS if you want to use libre(-ish?) software. Personally I have a Windows laptop that I've sacrificed to the spyware gods to play on Fox.

Sorry to hear it's such a problem.

Kgs has a new web frontend that's a bit rough around the edges but works.

The ranks are a bit off though, i'm ~7k at ogs, but seem to be closer to 4k at kgs.
