I’ve got a very old #HomeAssistant instance that now has a large number of old unused unavailable entities.
Is there any way to tidy this up and remove unused devices/entitites? @homeassistant

@homeassistant Having followed some top advice. The simple answer seems to Settings/Entities and filter for Unavailable.
That took me from:
Entities: 14087 to 3007
Sensors: 8867 to 1745

@Adrian @homeassistant I use the Settings/Entities view with a filter set to Unavailable to get a hint at what I might want to delete then go into the integration/device for that entity and delete it.
Sometimes I’ll also manually hack the .storage files for config entries, devices and entities but that’s pretty nasty.

@codechimp @Adrian @homeassistant entities view is the way to go. It has multi select and extensive filtering options. Easy to batch delete.

@Adrian @homeassistant remove from the UI, or the, underlying DB?

@Adrian @homeassistant These numbers look crazy !
On my side, I have only 162 devices (0 unavailable) and 1277 entities (only 77 unavailable). But strangely, I have 415 disabled entities.

@lucas3d about 8000 of mine where from UniFi devices/entities that no longer existed.

@lucas3d @Adrian @homeassistant
As each device can have several disabled entities, this sounds quite normal to me. Most diagnostics related entities are disabled by default.

@Adrian @homeassistant You can use action from 👻Spook for that 😉
