Initially I wanted to ditch ZFS on my new laptop as it didn't bring any real benefit and installing debian with root ZFS was a bit too manual.
I started transferring files from my old zfs laptop to my new lvm one.
Then the transfer failed because of full filesystem on the receiving end.
Ah... zfs compression...
I checked how much space it really saved...
So much that my new laptop (twice the storage) wouldn't be enough 😅
Yeah, I'll definitely keep ZFS 🥰

Quite surprisingly, installing manually was almost faster that using debian's text installer thanks to the excellent guide at openzfs guthub.io
