I appear not to be able to boost this directly, but here is a screencast of a proposed feature for Emacs' package.el (package-autosuggest and package-autosuggest-mode, that tries to suggest packages to install if a major mode is missing):

@pkal Should this feature not depend on package.el directly but offer a way to hook into it? This seems to be something very useful especially for beginners but I think depending on the context package.el might not the best tool as some package depend on native libraries.
Also putting the suggestions on the mode-line makes it to appear very easy, an option would be to replace the element that displays the current-mode with a question mark icon and the question to install the suggested-mode/offer
