Every so often I refer to myself as "he/him" instead of "it/its" and I die a little bit inside. There's a small nag in my mind that says "it/its" as a slur, but if I give into that, I'm also giving into the same people who toss pronouns aside. Its my identity: I need to fully embrace it.
