Question for anyone with #crochet experience.

Attempting to make a baby blanket. My first major project besides a scarf or two.

I lengthened the chain to have a wider blanket. But, um, did I not account for stretching? I feel it's getting wider (stretching) as each row is added.

Is there anything I can do? I think it's going to be a crib or twin blanket, lol.

Will washing/drying it per directions help?
