@joshbressers @kurtseifried FOSS is excluded from this but will this affect companies who sell software use/contribute to FOSS. I can see this having some unintended consequences.

@roller @joshbressers anything complicated, or anything interacting with a complicated system will always have unintended consequences. One consistent concern I have now is how companies engineer around these regulations, like they did for GDPR. I guess maybe the good news is at least they’re having to make an effort now and they might occasionally do the right thing.

I think for too long we've declared software special and shouldn't be subjected to the normal rules, but then we also made up excuses and drug our feet when it was time to make special rules for the special snowflake
