As far as reaching the people who matter, the obvious difference in impact between:
a) 10 years of the entire web performance community painstakingly documenting and blogging and measuring and despairing about the ghastly performance of React websites and
b) @wesbos posting a youtube short about how fast a website can be when it doesn't use a client-side framework
is not lost on me 😅

@scottjehl @wesbos it makes me really fucking angry, if I’m being honest (no shade to Wes at all)

@cferdinandi @wesbos I'm 100% here for this audience being fired up about improving this situation, however the message reaches them. Wish I knew to call up Wes earlier I guess.

@scottjehl @wesbos i’m happy you’ve achieved that level of Zen already. I’m exhausted by how much this industry chases its idols.

@cferdinandi @wesbos I dunno. I think I'm personally more receptive to criticism/lessons from people I already trust and who share my interests, so it makes sense to me that it landed differently coming from someone in the community

@scottjehl @wesbos For sure, that makes sense! But I also think about how many webperf experts could have been a new "person I trust" for the last decade, but they were ignored because all of the big names were still all-in on React.
Better than never, but MAN is it frustrating.
I fully recognize I have 0 chill.
