I was revising a courtroom scene and noticed I used the word barrier a lot to describe the thing that sits between the Gallery (Well of the Court) and the legal practitioners.

Has to be a better word for that says I.

Way too long on Google later.

It's literally the Bar, the one have to lawyers pass!

Not one of the courtroom layout diagrams I looked at mentioned what it was called either which didn't help,
