Watched the movie Warlock for the first time. I think Hocus Pocus took inspiration from it.

An evil magic user from hundreds of years ago come to the present looking for a book and magically fly to a final conflict on consecrated ground they can't touch.

But I do appreciate the people from the past coming to our present aren't dumbfounded by our modern marvels like you see in other movies like Hocus Pocus.

A character asks where you draw water like a well. They're showed a faucet, and just get water from it.
