@KamalaHarrisWin

If Trump were to get a disabling heart attack or stroke or something, so he cannot stay in the election, would Vance then automatically be his successor as candidate or would the republicans have to choose a new candidate?

Not that I wish Trump, or anyone, ill health, but out of curiosity. He doesn’t seem to be in peak health.

Republicans could put forward a new candidate, but the ballots could not be changed at this late date I expect. Important point for U.S. POTUS election is that we don't vote for the candidate, we vote for electors to EC.

A month before Election Day 2020, President Donald Trump was in the hospital infected with a virus that killed a lot of healthier victims.

Good question though. I wonder if the new law passed amending the Electoral Count Act addressed it?

@markdevries @KamalaHarrisWin

In an instance where the non-incumbent nominee becomes incapacitated, the Party holds a vote to pick their nominee (bear in mind how much difficulty they had picking their Majority Leader.)

Since T**** has already selected his running mate, they would almost certainly defer to his choice (unless something grossly disqualifying were to come out about them.)
