@Neil I can relate! This is the main reason why I stopped 😡

@Neil My commute (each way) would be about 30 minutes by bike + time to change clothes at each end and maybe shower on arrival = about 1 hour total, vs 20 minutes by (electric) car. There’s a 1:8 gradient on the outward journey. It’s single carriage way and lots of cars on weekdays. I trust them to be responsible and I dislike your cynicism. At the weekend, it’s a nice journey, quiet, and I get some exercise. On weekdays, the car is more practical.

@Martin_Whitworth I'm sorry you read cynicism here. This message was in reaction to the killing of a cyclist this week by an driver in a hurry, with his daughter as a passenger.

I'm not arguing what transportation means should individuals adopt.

Just saying more people would commute by bike, for the greater good, if car culture was not so aggressive and dangerous.

@Martin_Whitworth

So, no, I no longer trust drivers to be responsible. Everyone in my family, including teenage kids, have been yelled at many times. Even knocked over once: nothing serious, but the driver stopped to look at my son recovering his bike, then just left the scene. We're not talking "accidents" but "faults" here.

Granted, car is practical for some. A pity that for many, it's because biking would be too dangerous. (I'm beginning to get cynical here).

@Neil as always, theres one more main reason missing here, i thought about that..., it's transporting people.
