Then there's 100,000 dead in the 2009 conflict in Sri Lanka.

There are, I'm sorry, a lot of terrible stories that almost nobody ever even hears about.

The 1991 story WAS in the WaPo; then it was dropped the next day. And I was shocked to learn of it just a few years ago.

Just saying: There's great commemoration of the Holocaust for one reason only: the war criminals lost the war.

In Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Assad (and his Dad) in Syria, and again today in Israel, the war criminals win, and so there's no commemoration.

The documentary about Indonesia notes that Indonesia is what it would be like if the Nazis won.

Wish this could be true. But I have watched Israeli atrocities long enough to know that this will never happen.

Who remembers Sabra and Chatila?

Who remembers 20 years of occupation of southern Lebanon? Who remembers siege of Arafat's house? Who remembers Shamir?

The kids in future will not learn about atrocities of Israel, for the same reason you don't know anything about the events I mentioned.

Today at lunch, l talked about Project 2025, and even tho elections were going to bad either way, now we r looking at actual fasc. Also genocide happened right where we are sitting. l haven't engaged unions, l met nice, engaged folks who are students, people forming farm communes, hacktivists, even random older people.

Part of my family is from Brittany originally, they can agree on nothing except hatred for the Americans. They have even come around on the Algerians!

He sucks. Check out the union events, they’re open to all, there are often catered events and street fests, author readings etc. they are infrastructure onto themselves.

I wish we had that here.
