@intheseheels they launched Starship, the biggest rocket that has ever existed, then after the separation of the two stages, the first stage flew back to the launch site, slowed down from 3000km/h to hover above the launch platform, and two giant robot arms plucked it out of mid air.

@stuart @intheseheels it is very cool, but is it superior to landing on a pad like the other ones they've done?

I'm just unsure why we need it to be plucked out of the air

@sldrant @intheseheels think with the larger rocket it means they don’t damage the landing area and need less construction for the whole endeavour. Even the launch pad itself is more a platform suspended above the ground.
