25 years ago when hiring for the BBC I told HR to forward every single job application to me personally because I knew that standard practice was looking for keywords to filter on and that talent would be overlooked.
Now there are companies who don’t even have a human in that first cutout loop at all. Which once again privileges people-who-know-people rather than talent.
Use the enemy’s tools against them. If those fuckers want an arms race, let’s give them one.
