One year.
One year since the Hamas-led attack in which over 1,100 Israelis were killed, and hundreds more taken hostage.
One year of the Israeli government’s massacres and starvation, which have killed over 42,000 Palestinians, and likely tens of thousands more.

We gather today as Israel continues to escalate its attacks in Gaza, and now also in Lebanon.
It didn’t have to be this way. It still doesn’t.

"I refuse to lose hope… my family's safety will not be perpetually at risk because are here, we whose grief is indiscriminate, we who have lost Palestinian and Israeli loved ones, we who feel indescribable fear, anger, and anguish. We are here to say that the violence must end."

"The grief never leaves your body. … But I know that my people have survived wars and occupations for centuries. I know we are resilient and we will rebuild. And I know I will still smell za'atar and mint leaves even in the darkest of times. And I know that my people will live."

@ifnotnowboston @voxofgod I read all the major Swedish papers today, not a single one of them had anything about the number of palestinian casualties, but every single one of them had stories of hostages, the Israeli loss and interviews with former hostages.
They act like over 2 million Palestinians starving and getting bombed every day don't even exist.

@ifnotnowboston 70 years.
70 years since the occupation and slaughter began. 70 years since the the British and US stockpiled weapons on that soil for "future conflicts". 70 years of occupation, theft of land and homes, support by the richest governments in the world, and propaganda to teach white westerners that these people can be turned into cattle and murdered, just like their own indigenous populations, who have been genocided and put in camps.
