@bobojp @anderspuck it's not a pogrom unless the sovereign supports it. Just because Israelis were the target, that doesn't make it a pogrom. The controllers of that apartheid ethnotheocracy are currently engaging in a pogrom.

Israel is actually surprisingly comfortable with Putin. And if they recklessly escalate even more, he COULD use it to justify something extreme.

@anderspuck @bobojp well, Hamas is connected to Iran, and Iran to Russia. And the leaders of Russia and Israel would prefer Trump.

Convergent interests does not mean coordination, let alone causation, ofc. But, netenyahu has been blamed by Israelis for the attack on October 7th, and he DOES have a history of supporting Hamas

@anderspuck @bobojp i could argue Russia has THE MOST to gain from escalation in the region. If a dirty weapon, biological/nuclear/what-have-you is used, the wmd taboo will have been broken — potentially creating a permission structure to permit Putin to tap into Russias significant stockpiles of non-conventional munitions. Indeed, the fog of war in the region, the chemical weapons already in use in Syria (an ally of Russia Israel operates within), etc may allow a Russian false flag.

@anderspuck @bobojp so, maybe it was a gift to Putin? Partly from Bibi? Which COULD play into something quite nasty, if we don't engage in proper communication/deterrence.

Likud wants greater Israel, and is operating on insane ethnotheocrat logic; Likud is not a strategic actor. Furthermore, they are enabled by Christians in America etc who WANT the world to end. And Russia is an opportunist, when it comes to strategic competition.

Cornered animals are dangerous. Hence... All of this...

This is non-strategic behavior, due to internal pressures on specific decision makers. Bibi doesn't wanna go to jail. Likud wants greater Israel. Putin wants strategic space and to stretch NATO thin. Trump wants money and to avoid jail. Etc etc etc.
