I think you'll have it easy.
I make stuff and i honestly think nobody will pay for that crap. I bet you can make something worth a damn and get the ball rolling.

For me, it's drawing and writing lore for my idiotic setting.
Nothing of which is interesting to anyone.

@Morghur @s2208 if it's interesting to you the overwhelming likelihood is it will be interesting to at least some others, especially if you can nail down exactly WHY its interesting to you and expand on it
thats what i bank on anyway
not that you should take it as advice for what to do with your life just something to consider

Now that's a take i've never thought about. I would say that's interesting to me mainly because it's a personal passion project and all that stuff, but it's also because i base it around old European legends, lore and real life obscure stuff.
I had to study mythology from different european nations, history, occultism, symbolism and uses of plants and minerals and superstitions in order to base my autistic lore around. There is funny and quirky stuff and some unique strange stuff i came up with, but a lot just comes from old legends and stories. And i find that stuff interesting

@Morghur @s2208 you might consider ruminating on those things which excite you rather than whether it's perfect right now. I think you'd get more mileage that way. You get down on yourself sometimes and it doesn't always seem like you're being very fair

When i thinkg about all of that, i think it boils down to "it's not uninspired slop like most stuff today", but it's also a drawback since i detach so hard from "pop culture references" that i think a lot of people will decide to not engage with it because they cannot find common ground with other stuff they like/consume.
And i already know i'm hard on myself a lot of the time. But it's mainly to keep myself in check and not relax too much. I know i'm doing well, but i can do better. Not the best method, but i can bear with it

@Morghur @s2208 of course - it will naturally depend on the kind of person you are. If you're the sort who would otherwise slack, by all means keep it. I suppose I'm just projecting a bit of myself onto you, as I tend to run myself into the ground on self criticism.
I find my """relaxed""" state still seeks improvement before actually relaxing (i spent the last week that i was sick working on a lisp parser/tokenizer/lexer instead of resting), and adding harsh self criticism on top leads to weeks of doing nothing and feeling hopeless
