The media.ccc.de frontend is open source https://github.com/voc/voctoweb I don't think it has keyboard shortcuts for playback speed (e.g. Shift+, slower; Shift +. faster). I should check further, may try submitting a PR.

OMG. UK fibre optic broadband isn't 1 customer router to 1 upstream tranceiver/port. The cabinets contain 64 way passive optical splitters, so a single tranceiver at the exchange (or a street cabinet) can service upto 64 homes. https://media.ccc.de/v/emf2024-305-the-last-miles-of-the-internet#t=1020

@alex The splitters can actually be anywhere! Cabinet, pole, chamber/pit, on-premises, etc..
I also thought there was potential for more than 64x ONTs on a single OLT, but I may be wrong on that one.

@alex The other cool thing about GPON, is that the entire "modem" bit can fit into an SFP!
This one is somewhat hackable, and interfaces between the GPON network and a standard SFP port on a switch or media converter - it's got a Linux system inside for management.

@attie 64 was the maximum quoted for a single splitter, and a rough limit given the typical distances and dBm budget in the UK
