@sri I count myself lucky, I pretty much skipped the tape phase (although I did have the cassette to CD adapter in my car.)

@ochaos @sri same, except I skipped the vinyl stage as tapes/walkmans were the rage when i started buying music. Also streaming is heaven...well at least Qobuz, its like the biggest Tower Records in your pocket.

@sri my millennial ass started at tapes but increasing levels of commie nerd rage stopped the buck by refusing to engage with DRM and subscriptions. So now if an artist wants my money, they had better use Bandcamp or something son those lines
